Riding Es Verger and the Castell d'Alaró
Ten kilometres, four hundred metres of climbing, and a gradient that touches twenty per cent on the concrete ramps above the village. The Camí des Castell leaves the Ma-2100 and climbs under the castle rock to Es Verger, which is a farmhouse restaurant known island-wide for roast lamb and for being exactly where a cyclist wants a restaurant to be. The castle itself is a walk from there.
This point-to-point line covers 10.4 km, from Alaró toward the Camí des Castell toward Es Verger toward back.
The route is read through settlement edges: narrow streets, rooflines, roundabouts, church towers, old road alignments, and the moment the built fabric releases the rider back into open country.
Captured in muntro Relief, gradient, and how to pace it
The elevation trace is rolling rather than alpine, spanning 340 m from low point to high point. There is 350 m of total ascent, enough to reward measured pressure over the rises without turning the whole route into a survival exercise.
Ride the early gradients a shade below the effort you think you can hold. The broken rhythm rewards cadence changes and short, controlled pressure rather than repeated spikes above threshold.
Points to watch for
The best Mallorca routes are remembered as a sequence of places, not as a GPX line. These are the changes of scene that organise this ride.

Why this road works indoors
muntro does not flatten Es Verger and the Castell d'Alaró into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.
The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
