Riding Felanitx to Porto Colom

The sea run of the wine town: fifteen and a half kilometres from the Felanitx roundabout to the harbour rim at Porto Colom, and none of it the main road. The line goes out through es Carritxó and over two real crests — 165 metres above the village, then the Ma-4016’s 172-metre high point — before the long fall past s’Horta into the flat horta country the road there is named for. At Ca n’Alou the route joins the carretera Felanitx-Portocolom itself for its final kilometre, the stretch the island’s cycling plan singles out for the traffic of riders on it, and lands on the roundabout above the harbour where the Porto Cristo coast road begins. The last kilometre is the newest tarmac here and the oldest idea: Felanitx has always had exactly one port, and this is the way down to it.

This point-to-point line covers 15.7 km, from Felanitx toward es Carritxó toward s’Horta toward Porto Colom.

This is coastal Mallorca rather than a generic blue horizon: the road’s relationship with coves, cliffs, ports, stone retaining walls, and open water is what defines it.

Relief, gradient, and how to pace it

The profile is restrained by Mallorca standards: 83 m separates its lowest and highest points. The interest comes from rhythm, surface changes, exposed straights, and the way the road moves through the landscape rather than one headline climb.

Use the opening kilometres to find cadence and keep the power smooth. The route is ideal for endurance work, recovery riding, or simply exploring the island without a large climbing bill.

muntro does not flatten Felanitx to Porto Colom into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.

The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
