Riding The Galilea balcony
The south-western Tramuntana, which is the range without the traffic. Out of Esporles over the coll d'en Portell to Establiments, past the Molí del Comte and up the Ma-1041 valley into Puigpunyent, where the Ma-1101 climbs on to the Galilea saddle. The Ma-1032 then runs the balcony — seven kilometres of terrace road with the whole Calvià basin open below it — before the long descent to es Capdellà. The way home climbs through Calvià and over the Coll de la Creu, and drops past the Molí del Comte into Palma.
This point-to-point line covers 54.9 km, from Esporles toward Establiments toward Puigpunyent toward Galilea toward es Capdellà toward Calvià toward the Coll de la Creu toward Palma.
This is coastal Mallorca rather than a generic blue horizon: the road’s relationship with coves, cliffs, ports, stone retaining walls, and open water is what defines it.
Captured in muntro Relief, gradient, and how to pace it
This is serious vertical terrain. The road spans 381 m from bottom to top and accumulates 690 m of ascent, with sampled ramps reaching 11.5%. The profile makes the pacing decision visible before the first pedal stroke.
Start conservatively and keep something in reserve for the final third. On a smart trainer the real gradient changes arrive exactly where the road changes, so a smooth power ceiling matters more than chasing speed on every ramp.
Points to watch for
The best Mallorca routes are remembered as a sequence of places, not as a GPX line. These are the changes of scene that organise this ride.

Why this road works indoors
muntro does not flatten the Galilea balcony into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.
The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
