Mallorca route guide · Llevant & East Coast
Riding The Llevant Coast Road
Seven and a quarter kilometres of the Ma-4023 running inland off the east coast, and the only corridor here whose two halves are a resort strip and a field wall. It starts on the Sa Coma gyratory, where three roads already meet and the field wall becomes a resort boulevard, and goes north through Cala Millor — nearly three kilometres of hotel frontage, pools and sports pitches, four gyratories in a row, the sea a street away on your right and never in sight for long. Past the last apartment block the road changes completely: a seven-metre bridge over a drainage cut at the fifth kilometre, and then two and a quarter kilometres of farmland, orchard edges and finca gates, dry-stone walls back at the verge, climbing gently the whole way. It ends where the coast road meets the Ma-4040’s roundabout on the edge of Son Servera, which is where the mountains behind Artà finally come into the frame.
This point-to-point line covers 7.3 km, from Sa Coma toward Cala Millor toward Son Servera.
This is coastal Mallorca rather than a generic blue horizon: the road’s relationship with coves, cliffs, ports, stone retaining walls, and open water is what defines it.
Captured in muntro Relief, gradient, and how to pace it
The profile is restrained by Mallorca standards: 51 m separates its lowest and highest points. The interest comes from rhythm, surface changes, exposed straights, and the way the road moves through the landscape rather than one headline climb.
Use the opening kilometres to find cadence and keep the power smooth. The route is ideal for endurance work, recovery riding, or simply exploring the island without a large climbing bill.
Points to watch for
The best Mallorca routes are remembered as a sequence of places, not as a GPX line. These are the changes of scene that organise this ride.
- 01
Sa Coma
The route rolls away from Sa Coma, giving you a few minutes to find cadence and read the road ahead.
- 02
Cala Millor
Cala Millor is one of the route’s defining changes of scene and a useful marker for pacing the ride.
- 03
Son Servera
Son Servera is one of the route’s defining changes of scene and a useful marker for pacing the ride.
- 04
64 m high point
At 64 m high point, the elevation trace reaches its ceiling before the road releases the height it has earned.
Why this road works indoors
muntro does not flatten the Llevant Coast Road into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.
The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
