Riding The camí de Son Morei
Son Morei names two roads and only the number tells them apart: the Carretera de Son Morei is the Ma-3432 out of Muro, and the camí de Son Morei is this — one lane of asphalt with no markings, no lighting and no signs recorded anywhere, crossing the coastal shelf between Muro’s road and the sa Pobla marjals. The ride is both of them in order: out of Muro on the Carretera past the carrer del Comtat, off at the junction the two Son Moreis share, and down the camí with fifty metres of gentle fall to the wet fields. Before this road was built into the world there was no way between its two ends at all — the network measured the detour as disconnected — so this is the line that made Muro’s road part of the island instead of an island of its own. It ends on the carretera de Marjals, in the drained field country whose name it takes.
This point-to-point line covers 5 km, from Muro toward the marjals — one toponym, two roads, ridden in sequence.
This is coastal Mallorca rather than a generic blue horizon: the road’s relationship with coves, cliffs, ports, stone retaining walls, and open water is what defines it.
Captured in muntro Relief, gradient, and how to pace it
The profile is restrained by Mallorca standards: 75 m separates its lowest and highest points. The interest comes from rhythm, surface changes, exposed straights, and the way the road moves through the landscape rather than one headline climb.
Use the opening kilometres to find cadence and keep the power smooth. The route is ideal for endurance work, recovery riding, or simply exploring the island without a large climbing bill.
Points to watch for
The best Mallorca routes are remembered as a sequence of places, not as a GPX line. These are the changes of scene that organise this ride.
- 01
Muro
The route rolls away from Muro, giving you a few minutes to find cadence and read the road ahead.

the marjals — one toponym, two roads, ridden in sequence
the marjals — one toponym, two roads, ridden in sequence is one of the route’s defining changes of scene and a useful marker for pacing the ride.

78 m high point
At 78 m high point, the elevation trace reaches its ceiling before the road releases the height it has earned.
Why this road works indoors
muntro does not flatten the camí de Son Morei into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.
The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
