Riding Palma to es Capdellà
The world’s first urban resort road. It leaves Palma at the Passeig Marítim interchange and runs the coast through Cala Major’s restaurant strip — jacaranda street trees, painted parking bays, twenty terraces in a kilometre — past Illetes and Portals Nous to Palmanova, where the coast road simply stops. What saves the ride is the turn inland at Son Caliu: the steepest kilometre on any line in this corridor, seven per cent up to the coll des Cocons, then Calvià on its shelf and the quiet avinguda to es Capdellà, where the Galatzó massif stands over the junction and two of this world’s earlier roads take over.
This point-to-point line covers 17.9 km, from the Passeig Marítim toward Cala Major toward Palmanova toward the coll des Cocons toward Calvià.
This is coastal Mallorca rather than a generic blue horizon: the road’s relationship with coves, cliffs, ports, stone retaining walls, and open water is what defines it.
Captured in muntro Relief, gradient, and how to pace it
The elevation trace is rolling rather than alpine, spanning 120 m from low point to high point. There is 283 m of total ascent, enough to reward measured pressure over the rises without turning the whole route into a survival exercise.
Use the opening kilometres to find cadence and keep the power smooth. The route is ideal for endurance work, recovery riding, or simply exploring the island without a large climbing bill.

Why this road works indoors
muntro does not flatten Palma to es Capdellà into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.
The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
