Riding The Raiguer to Alaró
The Camí des Raiguer ride goes east from Consell toward Lloseta; this is the other half of the same thousand-year-old road, west from Consell’s hub toward Alaró. Three and a half metres of asphalt with no line down the middle, dry-stone country the whole way, and the measurement that earned it: before this fragment was built, riding between its two ends meant ten and a half kilometres around by Santa Maria — nearly five times the road’s own length. Halfway along it crosses the Camí de Son Corcó at a four-way farm junction, the node that proved the two mapped fragments were one road. It leaves the historic line where the Ma-2021 crosses it and takes that road’s last four kilometres into Alaró, the shoe town under its two table mountains, finishing among the streets the town’s own couplet ride begins on.
This point-to-point line covers 6.1 km, from Consell toward Alaró — the western remainder of the Islamic road.
The route is read through settlement edges: narrow streets, rooflines, roundabouts, church towers, old road alignments, and the moment the built fabric releases the rider back into open country.
Captured in muntro Relief, gradient, and how to pace it
The profile is restrained by Mallorca standards: 67 m separates its lowest and highest points. The interest comes from rhythm, surface changes, exposed straights, and the way the road moves through the landscape rather than one headline climb.
Use the opening kilometres to find cadence and keep the power smooth. The route is ideal for endurance work, recovery riding, or simply exploring the island without a large climbing bill.
Points to watch for
The best Mallorca routes are remembered as a sequence of places, not as a GPX line. These are the changes of scene that organise this ride.
- 01
Consell
The route rolls away from Consell, giving you a few minutes to find cadence and read the road ahead.
- 02
Alaró — the western remainder of the Islamic road
Alaró — the western remainder of the Islamic road is one of the route’s defining changes of scene and a useful marker for pacing the ride.
- 03
226 m high point
At 226 m high point, the elevation trace reaches its ceiling before the road releases the height it has earned.
Why this road works indoors
muntro does not flatten the Raiguer to Alaró into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.
The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
