Riding The Costitx Road
The Ma-3121 out of Sencelles’ one-way weave: three and a half unbroken kilometres of open Pla — the only road on this corridor with a shoulder — tilting up three per cent for the village’s own hill, then carrer Major to the plaça de la Mare de Déu. This is the RUTA ARQUEOLÒGICA the fingerpost at Sencelles signs: Son Corró’s sanctuary, where the bronze bull heads of Costitx were dug up, sits at the top of the street the finds are named for. Three café doors stand within twenty-five metres of the line, and the observatory’s domes are the last thing on the ridge before the sky.
This point-to-point line covers 4.7 km, from the signed archaeology route over the open Pla to Son Corró’s village.
The route is read through settlement edges: narrow streets, rooflines, roundabouts, church towers, old road alignments, and the moment the built fabric releases the rider back into open country.
Captured in muntro Relief, gradient, and how to pace it
The profile is restrained by Mallorca standards: 50 m separates its lowest and highest points. The interest comes from rhythm, surface changes, exposed straights, and the way the road moves through the landscape rather than one headline climb.
Use the opening kilometres to find cadence and keep the power smooth. The route is ideal for endurance work, recovery riding, or simply exploring the island without a large climbing bill.
Points to watch for
The best Mallorca routes are remembered as a sequence of places, not as a GPX line. These are the changes of scene that organise this ride.

The route rolls away from Sencelles — the east valve on the Ma-3120, giving you a few minutes to find cadence and read the road ahead.

the signed archaeology route over the open Pla to Son Corró’s village is one of the route’s defining changes of scene and a useful marker for pacing the ride.

134 m high point
At 134 m high point, the elevation trace reaches its ceiling before the road releases the height it has earned.
Why this road works indoors
muntro does not flatten the Costitx Road into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.
The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
