Riding The Calicant Branch
Out of Manacor’s north gate the old carretera runs dead straight through worked ground — carob, almond and olive plots to the road’s edge — until the Calicant road forks away and starts climbing. It is a climbing road without a single corner over 100 degrees: past the roadside font of sa Murtera and the high wall of Bellver Nou to a real col at 176 m on the municipal boundary, where the massif of an ANEI stands two kilometres off your left shoulder. The descent follows a flood torrent into Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, arriving on village streets between green and taupe shutters, past the mill tower that closes the view.
This point-to-point line covers 13.2 km, from Manacor toward Conilles toward Coll de Calicant toward Sant Llorenç.
The route is read through settlement edges: narrow streets, rooflines, roundabouts, church towers, old road alignments, and the moment the built fabric releases the rider back into open country.
Captured in muntro Relief, gradient, and how to pace it
The elevation trace is rolling rather than alpine, spanning 103 m from low point to high point. There is 149 m of total ascent, enough to reward measured pressure over the rises without turning the whole route into a survival exercise.
Use the opening kilometres to find cadence and keep the power smooth. The route is ideal for endurance work, recovery riding, or simply exploring the island without a large climbing bill.
Points to watch for
The best Mallorca routes are remembered as a sequence of places, not as a GPX line. These are the changes of scene that organise this ride.

174 m high point
At 174 m high point, the elevation trace reaches its ceiling before the road releases the height it has earned.
Why this road works indoors
muntro does not flatten the Calicant Branch into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.
The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
