Riding The Camí des Raiguer
The oldest line here, and the flattest: twenty-eight metres of climbing in five and a half kilometres, because this road is the contour. Raiguer means the gentle apron where the mountain foot meets the plain, and Consell’s own planning memoir puts the boundary of the true Raiguer not at a river or a ridge but at this camí — so you ride the seam between two farming systems, almond and carob on the uphill side where the frosts stay off, vine and cereal falling away below. It begins at the Pont Trencat, the broken bridge that two town halls list under this road’s name, which is the best evidence anyone has that the fragments either side were once one road. Dry-stone walls to the tarmac edge the whole way, unlit, unmarked, and empty — the thing riders say about it is always the walls. The Raiguer’s own signature stands beside you in the fields: the common wells, one of them roofed with a chapel, and at Masnou an intact Islamic qanat of the same century as the road. Then the last third turns industrial without apology — three quarries and a stone-cutter’s yard on the run into Lloseta — and the camí lands almost on the door of the Palau d’Aiamans.
This point-to-point line covers 5.6 km, from Consell toward Lloseta — the Islamic road the highways replaced.
This is coastal Mallorca rather than a generic blue horizon: the road’s relationship with coves, cliffs, ports, stone retaining walls, and open water is what defines it.
Captured in muntro Relief, gradient, and how to pace it
The profile is restrained by Mallorca standards: 34 m separates its lowest and highest points. The interest comes from rhythm, surface changes, exposed straights, and the way the road moves through the landscape rather than one headline climb.
Use the opening kilometres to find cadence and keep the power smooth. The route is ideal for endurance work, recovery riding, or simply exploring the island without a large climbing bill.
Points to watch for
The best Mallorca routes are remembered as a sequence of places, not as a GPX line. These are the changes of scene that organise this ride.
- 01
Consell
The route rolls away from Consell, giving you a few minutes to find cadence and read the road ahead.
- 02
Lloseta — the Islamic road the highways replaced
Lloseta — the Islamic road the highways replaced is one of the route’s defining changes of scene and a useful marker for pacing the ride.
- 03
174 m high point
At 174 m high point, the elevation trace reaches its ceiling before the road releases the height it has earned.
Why this road works indoors
muntro does not flatten the Camí des Raiguer into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.
The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
