Riding The Emptiest Road in the Pla
Nine kilometres of the Ma-3300 out of Sineu’s carrer Migjorn, over the railway on its one real bridge and down into the widest, emptiest stretch of the whole Pla: the road falls fifty metres to the torrent crossings and climbs back to the Petra ridge with nothing along it but worked parcels, four culvert-scale bridges and the odd quarry face. No café, no village, no shade — the corridor’s only genuinely open, rolling, unbuilt road, and the piece that closes the Sineu – Petra – Sant Joan triangle.
This point-to-point line covers 8.9 km, from Sineu toward the Ma-3300 across the open Pla toward the Ma-3220 below Petra.
The route is read through settlement edges: narrow streets, rooflines, roundabouts, church towers, old road alignments, and the moment the built fabric releases the rider back into open country.
Captured in muntro Relief, gradient, and how to pace it
The profile is restrained by Mallorca standards: 44 m separates its lowest and highest points. The interest comes from rhythm, surface changes, exposed straights, and the way the road moves through the landscape rather than one headline climb.
Use the opening kilometres to find cadence and keep the power smooth. The route is ideal for endurance work, recovery riding, or simply exploring the island without a large climbing bill.
Points to watch for
The best Mallorca routes are remembered as a sequence of places, not as a GPX line. These are the changes of scene that organise this ride.

Why this road works indoors
muntro does not flatten the Emptiest Road in the Pla into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.
The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
