Riding Palma to Valldemossa
The island’s most ridden way into the mountains, and it starts in the city. The Ma-1110 leaves Palma’s northern edge on a viaduct over the hospital interchange — 580 m of dark weathering steel on concrete piers, the longest bridge on any road in this world — and then climbs a straight open ribbon through market gardens and almond ground, with the Tramuntana wall standing higher ahead the whole way. Past the junctions at s’Esgleieta the ribbon narrows, the orchards close in, and the last kilometre turns up the Ma-1130 to the gate of Valldemossa’s old town.
This point-to-point line covers 15.6 km, from Son Espases toward the Son Espases viaduct toward s’Esgleieta toward Valldemossa.
The route is read through settlement edges: narrow streets, rooflines, roundabouts, church towers, old road alignments, and the moment the built fabric releases the rider back into open country.
Captured in muntro Relief, gradient, and how to pace it
This is serious vertical terrain. The road spans 365 m from bottom to top and accumulates 366 m of ascent, with sampled ramps reaching 9.5%. The profile makes the pacing decision visible before the first pedal stroke.
Ride the early gradients a shade below the effort you think you can hold. The broken rhythm rewards cadence changes and short, controlled pressure rather than repeated spikes above threshold.

Why this road works indoors
muntro does not flatten Palma to Valldemossa into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.
The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
