Riding Es Trenc and the Salt Country
The flattest ride in this world, and the strangest ground it has ever crossed. Out of Campos the road runs dead level through the irrigation belt — under one per cent of grade for seven kilometres — to a lonely T where the carretera dels Presos ends after forty kilometres from the far coast. Then south past the thermal spring at Font Santa into the salt country: pink brine sheets, conical white salt piles on the far bank, ochre causeways between the pans, tamarisk at the road edge and no trees at all on the flats. The sea is four hundred metres away and never once visible — the Salobrar is a corridor between banks, not a plain — until the road climbs one last rise and drops into the white-and-cream port of Colònia de Sant Jordi.
This point-to-point line covers 11.8 km, from Campos toward the Ma-6040 T toward Font Santa toward the Salines toward Colònia de Sant Jordi.
This is coastal Mallorca rather than a generic blue horizon: the road’s relationship with coves, cliffs, ports, stone retaining walls, and open water is what defines it.
Captured in muntro Relief, gradient, and how to pace it
The profile is restrained by Mallorca standards: 32 m separates its lowest and highest points. The interest comes from rhythm, surface changes, exposed straights, and the way the road moves through the landscape rather than one headline climb.
Use the opening kilometres to find cadence and keep the power smooth. The route is ideal for endurance work, recovery riding, or simply exploring the island without a large climbing bill.

Why this road works indoors
muntro does not flatten Es Trenc and the Salt Country into a workout backdrop. The route’s bends, height, and junction order come from the road itself, while a compatible trainer reproduces the changing gradient under your pedals.
The point-to-point format gives the session a destination. There is no need to invent a finish when the real road already has one.
